Perimenopause and missed cycle with pain in the womb [prolapsed uterus] [sleep patterns]
I am 38 years old and was diagnosed with perimenopause at age 28. I have all the symptoms of night sweats, mood swings, hair loss, sleep patterns and bowel changes that lead to my recent colonoscopy gone. My cycles had continued to recently.
About one months ago, I was a sharp pain in the uterus and it felt like something was “failure”. Worried about a possible prolapsed uterus I planned a pelvic exam which I await the results. My cervix and uterus was low but the doctor said everything was “safe” instead. They then planned the colonscopy due to the changes in my gut. The doctor said everything appeared normal on colonscopy. My cycle is now two weeks late and I keep the cramps, back pain and stabbing. Is there a different procedure or test that I should look at whether this may just the beginning of menopause for me?

Reply:If you are worried, you could ask if an ultrasound, both pelvic and transvaginal, might be helpful.
