Any info would be great . Thanks.

Reply:Hello, I am now post op 8 days from my surgery. I had the sling for the cystocele, mesh for the rectocele, and a total hysterectomy. The hysterectomy was done as an LSH (laparascopically), which is awesome. No huge incision to deal with. However; I too had my bladder torn during the surgery and 8 days later I still have a catheter in. He repaired the hole in my bladder with a cadaver patch. I go on Monday to have a test done to see if the bladder is healed so I can have this freakin thing removed. I have also been told by an attorney who is my boss to seek legal counsil for the bladder damage. Wish me luck. Oh and the healing process for me is horrible, I am in alot of pain down there and have contractions in my crotch area quite a bit. Very, very sore. How are you doing after the surgery?

Reply:I did have a problem in the hospital when they took the cathiter out my whole left side had swelled badly, really was a freak thing and scared me to death. The gastro had put a hole in my bladder which leaked into my adominim. I had to keep ice on me fo 12 hours a 25lb. bag and it went down. I also had to come home with the cathiter in so the hole in the bladder would heal. My ob said he never had seen anything like it before and he had done 1000 of these surgeries with the gasto. Anyway the healing thing is that you do feel real good within a couple weeks but its very important not to lift much weight for like 3 months or you can mess up what work they do, also my ob would like to see me not have sex for 7-8 weeks cause it can tear done his repairs. I dont know about you but I didnt enjoy sex all that much before the surgery he said what he has done should make a huge difference. Good luck, if you have anymore questions please dont hesitate to ask. Oh also everyone says I should look into a lawyer about what the gastro had done, Im not sure what to do.

Reply:thanks for the input.Since i put this post on I went to the gyno (the other dr. was the urologist)And it was concluded that a total hyster.with the cystocele and rectocele repair was imminent. So I'll be going next Tues. for surgery.Just out of cureosity(?) how is your healing going?I'm sur w/6 children it has been very difficult….How soon after surgery were you able to get up and go about some of your daily things??Also, did you find that you had any problem w/urination after surgery..Anything else you might have to sat would also be great….Hope recovery continues for you….

Reply:Hi Im new here but I just had the surgery 4 weeks ago. I had all the above except they removed my uterus, as I didnt need it anymore as I already have six kids. Having so many kids took a toll on my body, I couldnt even have sex anymore without peeing all over the place. I also didnt enjoy sex anymore as the doc. said he built everything back up. S o I actually am excited to find out how enjoyable sex is again. Good luck to you.

Reply:The reason a female would need this surgery ,cystocele repair, is because the bladder is prolapseing down & out the vagina .The dr. "tacks" the bladder to the vaginal wall then does this pubvaginal sling surgery that basically uses tissue from either a cadaver or pig and anchors the bladder and urethra in place to prevent them from moving all about. It seems that because of the cystocele I'm having bladder trouble not incontinence so much but rather alot of urine retention thats breaking down into urea (or the basic ammonia waste ) and then causing complications "down"below.Plus the idea of my inards "falling" out is most unappealing.(Sorry about the poor spelling)Hope that gives you a basic answer to what this all about.

OKay, I know what you are talking about… I never knew the term for that sort of thing happening. I hear that happens after giving birth sometimes to. I don't know too much about it but I will research up on it.

Keep your head up and stay up on what your doctors wants for you.

Reply:I came from the Dr.s today and they strongly recomend that I have this cystocele repair w/pubvaginal sling operation.I'm 34 yrs. old and don't want to make my current situation worse then it is already.None of my friends have had anything like this and I don't know who else to ask.
What is that and why would a female need this procedure? I have to admit I've never heard of this either. Sorry, But I would like to know.

About one months ago, I was a sharp pain in the uterus and it felt like something was “failure”. Worried about a possible prolapsed uterus I planned a pelvic exam which I await the results. My cervix and uterus was low but the doctor said everything was “safe” instead. They then planned the colonscopy due to the changes in my gut. The doctor said everything appeared normal on colonscopy. My cycle is now two weeks late and I keep the cramps, back pain and stabbing. Is there a different procedure or test that I should look at whether this may just the beginning of menopause for me?
I use the Monistat 1 day treatment and normally by 3 days later, I feel almost 100%. (Though I think it might take up to a week to cure completely.) If your infection doesn't clear up in a week after OTC treatment though, or if it's very severe, you should see a doctor. You can also buy acidophilus pills (they contain the same bacteria found in live active yogurt).

Hello . I have an urgent need for advice for my mother who thinks shes a medical mystery. From reading the posts on the symptoms of peri / menopause, I think this is the situation. Can anyone help me? : Confused:

A little background: A few years ago my mother (now age 51) showed a few of the symptoms on the list . Massive hair loss, the skin feeling bugs crawling over her, the swelling of electricity through her body, short-term memory loss, etc.

Here s whats happening now: About nine months ago, she began having problems with her skin . dry, cracked hands, to the point of the cut. Also has small bumps on the heartless, like her palms. She says her hands taste salty? But the thing is literally driving her crazy is a constant feeling of acid on her tongue. Unlike acid reflux, but as battery acid in her mouth. Her tongue is even cracked in numerous places. The only relief she finds is chews gum as she.

My mother has seen her doctor a few times, and he can not find anything wrong with her. She has blood work was done to see if there is a problem with her thyroid, blood sugar, etc. No problems. The dermotologist says she has exemma (forgive my spelling).

Can someone offer me suggestions for her? I hate seeing her in such pain.

Thanks!

Short Swing Trading.
Reply:Have you tried uceran. It is a cream for the skin and is prescribed for ecezma patients. I know I use it. You can purchase it at any drug store. It will help the dry skin that is cracking. It may be a solution for her to try. It is an over the counter and is a little pricey but It has worked for me.

What I have found out is that ecezma is caused by an allergic reaction. If you have a cut and household chemicals (cleaning supplies) got in there and caused a reaction you can develope ecezma.

I hope that she feels better I know what she is going through.

Statistical Methods Of Stock Trading.
Reply:I agree that gp's or gyno's really are not up on it. I found that when my mom went to a gereatric doctor that he was able to prescribe an over the counter, all natural remedy and has done wonders for her. He didn't believe in putting women on the estrogen that most of the doctors prescribed her in the past. She was very moody and could kill you with her looks with the hormone replacement. I will try to remember to find out what the name of it was but I know she got it at CVS.

I hope she finds what she is looking for to relieve any symptoms she may be having with this inbalance. Menopause really stinks and I guess we will all be going through it someday. (God, I hope not).

Wrinkle and Skin Rejuvenation
Reply:changes in the bodies chemestry can do really strange things. She needs to check out a doctor who knows more about menopause. Not all GP's or Gynocoligists are up on it. While she is waiting for an appointment, she might try a hypoallergenic vitamin. Can't hurt and may restore some of the nutritional balance menopause is unbalancing.

Im eighteen years at the Yaz birth control pills for about four months, I do not know when that will deal with anything or not.
Anyway, last month I got a fungal infection, and I have about three bladder infections earlier in the years. In the past week or so, I have thick, white discharge, no smell, no itching, no burning. What would it be?

Please, answer me.

Reply:You can't trust the word of a nurse practitioner because they rarely have all the answers. I have found in my own experience that whenever I ask a nurse anything, I don't get a straight answer or more often than not I get the wrong all answer all together.

You should search the internet for articles specifically pertaining to yeast overgrowth and birth control use. There's so much information out there, I'm sure that nurse had no idea what she was talking about. I think you should read what you can find out there and then talk to an actual doctor who has a medical degree, although they don't always have the answers. I prefer to look at clinical trials and research data to get my facts, because I find that those are the kind of concrete answers that I need to answer my questions.

Reply:See, I was worried it was my birth control, so I asked the nurse practitioner about that when I went last month with a yeast infection, she said she highly doubted it and not to worry about it.

Reply:Use of birth control pills causes yeast overgrowth in many women, thereby causing more frequent yeast infections. I personally found I had more problems when I was on the pill. You might want to check with your doctor about switching your pill or maybe finding a different birth control method all together.

Cancer-Free — Third Edition.
Reply:Thanks for the info. As soon as I get some extra time I will have to do some research on the net. The doctor also took a urine sample and some blood work. I find out in September if they show anything to be concerned about. Thanks again!

Meditation and Cancer : Does it Help?
Reply:Fibrocystic changes are the most common cause of breast lumps in women ages 30 to 50. Although fibrocystic changes may also be referred to as fibrocystic disease, this is not a disease, but a condition. It can be known as cystic disease, chronic cystic mastitis or mammary dysplasia. This condition is not cancerous. At least 60% of the women in their reproductive years have "lumpy" breasts as a result of these non-cancerous conditions.

Heavy lifting or dragging will cause excessive bleeding?

Heavy lifting or dragging will cause excessive bleeding?

Reply:I pretty much agree with JoJo, but I don't know if anyone knows for sure. Basically, if there isn't anything wrong with you, the blood and tissue is built up in your uterus during the weeks before your period and it comes out in that final week. Perhaps lifting can cause it to come out faster – I think some women may like that idea to get it all out sooner, but I don't think it would really work.

If you are dealing with any kind of abnormality, like fibroids, it is a good idea not to push it. My doc has told me to rest with my feet up when I am experiencing heavy bleeding. In my case, any increase in my blood pressure from stress or activity will result in more blood loss. I really do not think this is the case with a normal period.

Reply:Will heavy lifting or tugging cause excessive bleeding?

No, not if your periods are normal. In a normal woman there is only a certain amount of fluid that will be discharged during her period.
